This past week, Quincy Catholic Charities and the DOT Foods Neighbor to Neighbor program answered the call. Bright and early this past week, employees from DOT Foods unloaded a truckload of food at the Quincy Catholic Charities Food Pantry, light hearts making quick work of their burdens.
As the cost of living continues to increase, our food pantries and mobile food pantries are more essential than ever. But keeping our pantry shelves stocked is a never-ending task. This is where organizations like the Latter-day Saints step in.
When the engine failed on the pantry’s box truck in December of 2024, it impacted our ability to offer the mobile food pantry program to those in need in rural communities who rely on the MFP to make it paycheck to paycheck.
Sister Anne Carlino, a dedicated humanitarian and longtime supporter of Catholic Charities, passed away in 2024 at the age of 88. Since 1957, Sr. Anne devoted her life to serving others locally and abroad as a member of the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis.
On Saturday, March 1, 2025, we marked our centennial with a celebratory banquet at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. To show our gratitude to those whose dedicated efforts have sustained our mission of mercy for 100 years, we awarded several notable community members the Magnificat Award.
